Why You Have to Want Your Freedom More Than Anything: Staying In the Ascension Game When It Gets Ugly

Welcome back, ViiSquad! In this solo dolo episode, I’m diving into something that gets glossed over way too often in the spiritual community: you have to want your freedom—your ascension, your soul’s growth—more than anything, even when it feels impossible, even when you’re not seeing results, even when all signs point to “give up.”

And let’s be real: Most people quit long before the breakthrough. Not you, not if you’re reading this. Let’s get into it.

Spiritual Growth Is Work. Period.

Here’s the part nobody wants to say out loud: awakening and ascension is work. It’s not all floaty, high-vibe affirmations and instant manifestations. It’s gritty, gut-wrenching, unglamorous work. You have to be in it for you, and you have to be in it for the long haul—no matter how many times life tries to drag you back to the bottom.

People ask me all the time, “How did you keep going?” Especially when everything around me screamed “game over.” The answer? I wanted my freedom more than I wanted to stay comfortable in the abyss.

I wanted out of the Mariana Trench—out of the Challenger Deep of my own darkness—so badly that nothing else mattered. And if you’re honest with yourself, that’s the level of hunger you need to have for your own soul’s evolution.

What Kept Me Going When Everything Sucked

Some of you know my story. A lot of you don’t. But I’ve had more “I might not make it out of here” moments than I can count. Picture me, sitting in a hospital bed, recording what I thought might be my last words on my phone—more than once.

What got me through? Two things:

  1. My unwavering faith in God/Source/Universe.
  2. A bone-deep desire to be free.

And here’s the kicker: if I tapped out early, I knew I’d just have to come back in another lifetime and resume right where I left off. Oh, you thought you could just bail and start over fresh? Cute. No, you pick up at the same mess you left behind. If it sucked now, it’s still gonna suck next time. So why not just get it over with?

You Can’t Cheat the Process—Trust Me, I Tried

Failure and quitting? Not on my menu. Not when the alternative is coming back and redoing this nightmare from square one. So, when it came down to it, I chose to gut it out, do the work, and keep going.

Listen, if your soul chose the ascension path, you’re not getting out of it—no matter how many lifetimes you try to sidestep it. At some point, you’re going to have to put in the work.

And let’s be crystal clear: not growing sucks even more than facing the fire. I tried it. Zero stars, do not recommend. When you keep looping, repeating, and settling for what you’ve outgrown, your soul starts clawing at you from the inside out. You can’t hide from it. The longer you delay, the worse it gets.

Evolve or Repeat: Don’t Wait for a Spiritual Ass-Kicking

You already know my motto: Evolve or repeat. When you refuse to do the work, life will eventually do it for you—with interest. Enter the Tower moments. The spiritual FBI raids. The “sword up your ass” moments (sorry, not sorry). Don’t wait until Source/Universe has to come and snatch you out of your comfort zone. That’s when you lose everything you were afraid to let go of.

If you feel that nudge right now, if you know there’s something or somewhere you’ve outgrown—move. You already signed on the dotted line. Don’t run out the clock hoping the contract expires. It doesn’t.

And for those thinking, “What if I don’t want this path?” Not everyone signed up for it, and that’s fine. But if you knowyou did, tick-tock. The longer you stall, the sharper the wake-up call.

So, What’s the Move?

Simple: Don’t wait for everything to implode. Choose yourself now. Put in the work now. Trust that the agony of transformation is so much less than the agony of staying stuck where you don’t belong. You deserve more, and you know it.
